This is something I use to do when my daughter was a baby. I’d spend a couple of hours every other week pureeing and juicing all kinds of different fruits and vegetables, and then I’d freeze them in ice cube trays. Once frozen, I’d place them in ziploc freezer bags with the name and date. I stumbled across this idea again on Carrie’s blog, Rowdy Stroudy. Only, this is something you could also do for the entire family! Pop those babies in smoothies, sauces, soups, or even drinks.
Juice and freeze lemons, limes, and other fruit for ice water, ice tea, smoothies, and to add flavor to other recipes. Pureed and frozen veggies are perfect for smoothies and hidden in sauces. You could easily add pureed veggies to the family spaghetti without the kids even knowing it! How sneaky is that?! Hop on over and visit Carrie to see how she did this.
